What began as a casual Craigslist post in 2012 has become one of North Texas’ most talked-about rock acts. The Infamists, a three-headed rattlesnake of rock, were formed in a dorm room at the University of North Texas (Denton). Founding members Riley Rogers (guitar/vocals), Spencer Wharton (bass/vocals), and Ryan Weiss (drums/percussion) have remained a tight-knit unit for over a decade, an impressive feat in today’s ever-shifting music industry.
With their roots planted deep in the blues but their branches reaching toward psychedelic exploration, Sabbath-inspired heaviness, and Southern rock swagger, The Infamists have carved a space that feels timeless yet fresh.

A Discography Built on Independence
Over the years, The Infamists have released four full-length albums, two EPs, and a string of singles—all independently. Their dedication to full creative control has allowed them to maintain authenticity while exploring new sounds without limitations.
This independence also speaks volumes about their work ethic. In an industry where major label backing often dictates trends, The Infamists have built their legacy brick by brick, on their own terms.

A Band That Thrives on Versatility
One of the most remarkable aspects of The Infamists is their ability to adapt to any stage. Whether they’re filling tranquil cocktail parlors with soulful jams or rattling the walls of biker bars with chest-pounding riffs, they deliver an experience that resonates with every audience.
Their setlists are never static; they twist and flow through expansive psychedelic blues jams, before crashing into crushing riff-driven anthems reminiscent of Black Sabbath. This “anything goes” approach has kept fans hooked for years, making each live performance unique and unpredictable.
Spotlight on “Wayfaring & Wanderlust”
The band’s latest release, “Wayfaring & Wanderlust,” encapsulates their journey—both sonically and spiritually. The track is a testament to their signature fusion of heavy riffs, hypnotic blues progressions, and soaring vocal harmonies. It feels like a road map for the wandering soul, the kind of song that plays perfectly on a long Texas highway drive.
With every note, The Infamists prove that rock and roll is alive, well, and thriving in Dallas.

Recognition and Rising Momentum
The group’s impact has not gone unnoticed. The Dallas Observer, in a feature by Alex Gonzalez, called them one of North Texas’ fastest-rising rock bands and highlighted their Dallas Observer Music Award nomination. For a trio that started in a Denton dorm room, this recognition cements their place among the region’s most exciting acts.
