Hitting the Road and Finding an Audience
Following a run of shows across Portugal in 2019, The Bateleurs joined forces with LeStrato Rock, a respected booking agency. This partnership expanded their reach, taking their music across the border into Spain. Their regular tours there have since solidified a growing fan base eager for their powerful live sets, where soulful guitar licks and tight rhythm sections dominate.
From the vibrant heart of Lisbon, Portugal, emerges The Bateleurs, a blues rock powerhouse that blends the timeless grit of 1970s British and American rock with a modern, regional flair. Since their debut, the band has been steadily carving out a place for themselves in the global rock scene, delivering electrifying performances and crafting records that resonate with authenticity.
The Immanent Fire – A Fiery Debut
The story begins in October 2018, when The Bateleurs released their debut Video EP The Immanent Fire. This first offering immediately set the tone for their identity — raw blues rock energy infused with melodic intricacies. Drawing inspiration from iconic names like Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, and the gritty Mississippi blues scene, the EP established their reputation for both technical skill and emotional depth.

VC Sessions – Live in the Pandemic Era
At the close of 2023, The Bateleurs offered fans something special: The 2020 VC Sessions. Recorded live at Valentim de Carvalho Studios — the historic former EMI headquarters in Portugal — this multimedia album captured the raw energy of the band during the stillness of the pandemic. It was a reminder of music’s power to connect, even in times of isolation.
The Sun in the Tenth House – A Bold First LP
In May 2022, the band unveiled their debut full-length album, The Sun in the Tenth House, under the Spanish label MilanaMúsica. This release marked a new chapter, one that showcased a richer sonic palette and deeper songwriting maturity. The record’s mastering was handled at Infrasonic Sound in Nashville, Tennessee — a studio known for working with names like Rival Sons and Chris Stapleton — by acclaimed engineer David Gardner. This international collaboration elevated the production value, adding a polished yet organic touch to their sound.
