Finding Light in the Darkness: My Sunshine After Rain feels deeply personal—can you take us back to the moment or experience that first inspired this song?

It started at the piano during a quieter, more introspective time. I wasn’t trying to write anything specific, just playing and those first chords already carried that mix of fragility and light.

When the Storm Clears: You mentioned the idea of “the storm finally breaking”—what did that emotional transition look like for you in real life?

The storm can be liberating too, not only oppressive; it can reveal what was there all along.

Broken Into Brave: The lyric “You turn my broken into brave” is especially powerful. What does that transformation mean to you personally?

To me it’s about how something—or someone—can change the way you carry things. Not fixing everything, but helping you find the strength to move forward differently.

Building the Soundscape: This track started as a piano piece—how did the song evolve as you began adding layers and production elements?

The piano always stays in the center. From there, I built the production around a steady groove, layered guitars, and uplifting vocal harmonies, something that could gently reflect that sense of rising.

The Power of Simplicity: The “Uuhh huh uh” vocal motif adds a unique emotional rhythm. How did that idea come about?

That came very naturally while recording. It felt more honest than adding more words, just letting the emotion carry through in a simple way.

Strength in Vulnerability: Your music blends vulnerability with strength. How do you balance emotional honesty with creating something uplifting?

I think they come together naturally. Even in more difficult moments, there’s always a bit of strength somewhere. I just try to stay true to that without overthinking it.

Childhood Influences & Timeless Sounds: Were there any specific artists or sounds that influenced the final production of this track?

Not in a direct way. I’m drawn to simple, spacious productions. But while working on this, I kept thinking of Love Is All by Roger Glover, sung by Ronnie James Dio. The song has such a joyful energy, and that stayed with me. I think I wanted to bring a bit of that lightness into this track. A lot of what I discovered as a kid still finds its way into my music. I’m probably still a bit of a kid at heart.

A sense of comfort, maybe. That even after heavier moments, things can soften again.

Healing Through Music: Looking back now, how has creating this song impacted your own healing journey?

Just accepting where things are and trusting they’ll shift in their own time. The rain isn’t meant to stay.
