The Inspiration Behind “Awesome Day”: “Awesome Day” carries a strong message of positivity, gratitude, and appreciating everyday life. What inspired you to write a song centered around this uplifting message?

First of all, thank you for having me.

Music holds an extraordinary power over how we feel and think. When we connect with a track, we rarely listen just once; we put it on repeat, allowing that energy to shape our mindset. While there will always be a place for melancholic music, I believe the world needs far more sound that elevates, restores, and inspires.

My goal was simple yet ambitious: to create a track that leaves the listener feeling energized, focused, and convinced that today is going to be an incredible day. Receiving messages from listeners all over the world who feel that exact spark tells me that the vision truly connected.

A Mantra of Positivity: The line “Today is gonna be an awesome day” feels almost like a personal mantra. What does that message mean to you personally, and what do you hope listeners take away from it?

For me, it’s a daily commitment rather than just wishful thinking. You cannot always control what life throws at you, but you can choose the perspective and energy you bring into the morning. That phrase is my personal anchor to stay grounded and focus on gratitude...! My hope is that listeners use the track as an instant reset. Whenever they hit play, I want them to feel lighter, recharged, and reminded of their own inner strength. If the music helps someone start their morning with genuine hope and momentum... that means everything to me and is an intense feeling.

Crafting the Sound: You’ve blended house, pop, and ambient elements throughout “Awesome Day.” How did you approach creating the song’s bright and energetic production while still keeping an emotional depth?

For me, it always comes down to trial and error. In the studio, you can never predict with absolute certainty what will resonate with an audience...

So you have to rely on your own intuition and gut as a compass!

The process begins with balance. Building the driving rhythm of house and the clarity of pop to provide energy. While weaving in atmospheric pads and space to hold the emotional weight. Also, technical balance only goes so far. As long as the combination genuinely moves me... When I feel that spark and emotional truth in the room...

Then I know I’m on the right path. If it resonates deeply with me first, there is a great chance it will connect with the listener too.

The Voice Behind the Song: Megan’s soulful and warm vocals play an important role in bringing the song’s message to life. What made Megan the right voice for “Awesome Day,” and how did your collaboration come together?

Finding the right voice is like finding a missing piece of your own musical soul. For the longest time... I searched for a vocalist whose tone could truly capture the emotional heart of my music. Then, the day finally came when Megan and I connected... From that very first moment, everything clicked. Megan possesses an extraordinary talent; her voice carries an authentic warmth and depth that immediately elevates the production to a whole new level.

Working together over time has only deepened that creative bond. We understand each other’s musical instincts without having to say a word.

For a track like "Awesome Day," her soulful delivery was essential! She doesn't just sing the words; she breathes genuine life, hope, and humanity into the melody!!!

Musically, it truly is a match made in heaven.

Amsterdam’s Musical Influence: Pearl Project is based in Amsterdam, a city known for its diverse and vibrant electronic music culture. How has your environment in Amsterdam influenced your sound and musical identity?

While my studio is rooted in a quiet village called Stampersgat today, Amsterdam is woven into the very DNA of my sound.

Living there during my teenage years was transformative! The city's raw energy, vibrant nightlife, and boundary-pushing electronic scene opened my ears and ignited my passion for music in a profound way. That youthful pulse never leaves you!!!

Today, Stampersgat gives me the tranquility, focus, and open space to create.

While those electric memories of Amsterdam provide the spark. My sound is essentially a bridge between those two worlds...

The driving energy and eclectic spirit of the city, shaped and given emotional depth through the peace and clarity I find in my studio today.

It’s the contrast that defines the music: the vibrant rhythm and soul I fell in love with in Amsterdam, translated through the grounded serenity of where I am now.

Creating the Perfect Summer Anthem: The song feels especially suited to summer playlists, road trips, beach gatherings, and festivals. Did you have a particular setting or audience in mind when you were creating “Awesome Day”?

When I wrote “Awesome Day,” I wasn’t thinking about a specific demographic or a festival crowd... I was thinking about the moment your eyes open in the morning.

We all know those mornings where you wake up feeling heavy, exhausted, or overwhelmed before your feet even touch the floor.

Your mind starts racing with a thousand worries, doubts, and to-do lists. That fragile first moment can define everything that follows.

I wanted to create a spark that cuts right through that noise. The second the first beat hits, it’s meant to be an immediate reset...

A jolt of energy that says, “Take a breath. Yesterday is gone. Today is yours.”

Whether you’re blasting it with the windows down on a coastal highway, dancing under the sun at a festival, or just making coffee in your kitchen trying to shake off a restless night, this song is a reminder that joy is a choice we can make from the very first minute!!!

When it can turn someone’s bad morning into a breakthrough... That’s the greatest feeling in the world.

Storytelling Through Sound: Your music combines storytelling with immersive electronic soundscapes. How do you balance the importance of lyrics and storytelling with the production and atmosphere of a track?

For me, music and words exist in a continuous dialogue. Production is never just background noise, and lyrics should never be filler to take up space.

When a track truly resonates... The soundscape carries the emotional subtext while the words provide the emotional anchor.

Each elevating the other naturally, without force.

Production is about building an atmosphere where an emotion can breathe. The melodies, textures, and rhythm set the mood, while the storytelling gives it direction.

Just as important as what you say is what you leave unsaid. By keeping the music intentional and honest, you give listeners the space to bring their own experiences, memories, and imagination into the song.

A New Chapter for Pearl Project: “Awesome Day” embraces a lighter and brighter direction while maintaining the thoughtful craftsmanship associated with Pearl Project. Does this release represent a new chapter or direction for the project?

I see Awesome Day less as a permanent new direction and more as a natural breath of light along a much wider path. As an artist, I resist boundaries... You can't put genuine expression in a box. My sound moves wherever life and emotion lead.

Looking ahead, can you tell us what listeners can expect next from Pearl Project? Are there any upcoming releases, collaborations, or projects you’re excited to share?

When there is one promise I can make, it’s that Pearl Project will never stay still.

What’s coming next is deep, thought-provoking, and completely unpredictable.

Pearl Project is stepping into rich new sonic territory with exciting collaborations and boundary-pushing songs.

I’m especially eager to unveil a bold new track that speaks directly to the experience of women while offering men plenty to reflect upon.
