Rooted in Music, Guided by Purpose

Micae’s connection to music began early—singing at four and studying voice into her twenties. This deep-rooted musicality now fuels both her songwriting and her therapeutic work. In 2021, she founded InTandem Music Therapy, a private practice where she supports neurodivergent children and teens. Her sessions often include songwriting as a tool for expression, helping young people navigate their inner worlds.

Beyond the studio, her academic curiosity led her to pursue a Master’s in Education, where she’s researching how autistic students use technology to access learning in equitable and meaningful ways. Her work consistently reflects a deep understanding of how music, identity, and care intersect—making her songs feel not only intimate but socially resonant.

Vancouver’s music scene continues to evolve, and one of its most authentic voices rising through the noise is Micaela Pirritano, known simply as Micae. A singer-songwriter and certified music therapist, Micae crafts songs that sit delicately between the personal and the universal—exploring love, loss, identity, and justice with a rare emotional depth.

Why Micae Matters

Micae’s artistry is not just about sound; it’s about creating space—for emotion, for healing, and for important conversations. In an industry that often rewards volume over vulnerability, her quiet strength stands out. Whether she’s in the therapy room or on stage, Micae continues to show how music can both move us and make meaning.

With her debut album on the horizon, Micae is a name to remember—a voice that resonates long after the last note fades.

From Star Dreams to Her Debut Album

You might have heard Micae’s voice on "Star Dreams," the 2022 album by Fancey of The New Pornographers. Her dreamy vocals earned praise from Variety and Psychedelic Baby Magazine, and the project saw airplay across North America.

Now, Micae is turning the spotlight on herself with her debut album, "It All Looks a Little Different Now." Set against a backdrop of melodic indie, folk-rock textures, and country-tinged longing, the album weaves together themes of feminism, justice, forgiveness, and love. It’s a body of work that doesn’t shy away from complexity but rather leans into it—asking listeners to pause, reflect, and feel.
