A Musical Journey Begins—And Reawakens
Jorge Chacin’s connection with music began in his youth, with some formal training and, more importantly, a deep personal drive to explore the guitar on his own terms. Life, as it often does, took him on other paths. While he played less during his college years, music never truly left him. After graduation, Chacin co-founded the Miami-based band Nine O'Clock, taking center stage as lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist. The band brought original sounds to South Beach’s vibrant music scene for a few years, before the guitar again slipped into the background.
Fast-forward to March 2020. At 55, Jorge set up a home studio and began what he calls a "re-learning and creative process." That process evolved into Shades of Strings—an evocative collection of songs showcasing a mature, genre-blending approach to guitar-driven music.

After years away from the fretboard, Jorge Chacin’s rekindled passion for the guitar has bloomed into a deeply personal and sonically rich solo debut, Shades of Strings. A project born in early 2020, amidst global uncertainty and newfound personal time, this album is more than just a comeback—it's a melodic memoir of over five decades of musical influence.
A New Chapter, A Lasting Sound
Jorge Chacin’s Shades of Strings isn’t just a return to music—it’s a celebration of it. It’s proof that it’s never too late to rediscover your passion and that sometimes, the guitar gathering dust is simply waiting for the right moment to sing again.
Whether you're a fan of smooth jazz-fusion, reflective rock, or simply authentic songwriting, Shades of Strings offers something special. Jorge Chacin’s journey may have taken detours, but his music is exactly where it’s meant to be—resonating with heart, soul, and timeless strings.

A Fusion of Styles and a Lifetime of Influence
Shades of Strings defies traditional categorization. Jorge seamlessly blends mellow rock with jazz voicings, threads in elements of funk, and infuses his compositions with chord melody styles that speak of careful craftsmanship and emotional depth.
Lyrically, the album explores personal themes, adding a layer of intimacy that invites listeners into his world. But perhaps the most captivating element is the unintentional, yet clearly present, tapestry of musical influences. From the lush harmonies of the Bee Gees to the soaring solos of David Gilmour, and the rhythmic complexity of Rush, Jorge Chacin’s music echoes 56 years of listening, learning, and loving music.
