Acoustic Pop with a Folk Twist
Emma’s music is a unique blend of acoustic pop and folk, deeply rooted in emotional expression. Entirely self-taught, she uses songwriting as a powerful tool to process and express her emotions. “Writing holds me accountable,” she shares, reflecting how her lyrics help her come to terms with her feelings. For her, music isn’t just an outlet—it’s therapy. And the idea that her songs might do the same for others makes the process even more meaningful.
Inspired by Nature and Strong Female Voices
Much of Emma’s inspiration comes from beautiful surroundings and powerful female artists. “There’s something about being in beautiful environments,” she says, “you almost have no choice but to write beautiful songs.” Her influences include Kate Miller-Heidke, Tori Amos, Missy Higgins, and Taylor Swift—artists known for their lyrical depth and emotional range
Emma Newman is more than just a rising star in the acoustic pop scene—she’s a storyteller, a feeler, and a voice for those who long to be understood. Keep an eye on this incredible artist as she continues to grow, inspire, and connect through the power of music.

Emma Newman has been singing for as long as she can remember. What began with performing cover songs at small school events soon grew into something much more meaningful. At age 11, she picked up her first “proper guitar,” and by 13, her passion for writing and performing music had truly taken root. A few years later, she was already gigging professionally—proof that talent, dedication, and heart can take you far.

A Career on the Rise
One of the most memorable moments in Emma’s career was performing with her musical idol, Kate Miller-Heidke, at the Summersalt Festival in Hervey Bay. She’s also opened for celebrated artists like Scott Cook, Jade Holland, 8 Ball Aitken, Andrea Kirwin, Tullara, and MZAZA. Beyond that, she’s made a name for herself in the local music scene, performing at venues across her region and appearing at festivals like Festival of Small Halls, Brolga Live, the Maryborough Masquerade Ball, and mental health awareness events.
Life Outside the Spotlight
When she's not on stage, Emma enjoys the little things: listening to live music, binge-watching reality TV, reading, shopping, and indulging in GYG runs. These everyday joys round out the picture of an artist who's as grounded as she is talented.
