AMELINA is a rising pop-rock artist whose music blends cinematic emotion with indie pop sensibilities. Originally from Russia and now based in Spain, her sound is shaped by a journey of transformation, resilience, and self-discovery. Drawing inspiration from her cross-cultural experiences and the vibrant landscapes around her, AMELINA creates songs that feel both intimate and expansive. Known for her honest storytelling and atmospheric production, her music explores themes of courage, change, and hope. As an artist, she is carving out a distinctive space with her emotionally rich sound and deeply personal, film-like approach to songwriting.

A Life-Changing Move: From Russia to Spain: 1. Moving from Russia to Spain is a huge life shift. How did that transition personally and creatively shape the artist you are today?

Moving to Spain changed my life a lot. Everything felt new — language, school, people, even the colors around me. At first it was a big challenge, but creatively it opened so much for me.

I think my music became brighter, more emotional, and maybe more cinematic because of that. Living between cultures also makes me think differently about identity and growing up, and those ideas often find their way into my songs.

Turning Moments into Music: You’ve described your music as “little postcards from real life.” Can you share a specific moment from your journey that directly inspired one of your songs?

I love calling songs little postcards because they can hold feelings from real moments. Step by Step was inspired by learning that progress doesn’t have to be fast to matter. Sometimes life moves slowly, but you still move forward. That idea felt very personal to me, and I hoped it could encourage other people too.

Crafting Cinematic Soundscapes: Your sound blends pop-rock with cinematic emotion. How do you approach creating that “film-like” atmosphere in your music?

I often imagine scenes or colors while I’m working on music. Sometimes I can almost see a song like a little movie in my head.

I love contrast — quiet verses and bigger choruses where emotions suddenly open up. Arrangement has a lot to do with that too.

That idea is becoming even stronger in my latest single Life’s Game, where the song is built around the metaphor of life as chess and bowling — strategy and chance.

The Emotion Behind “Step by Step”: “Step by Step” feels like a deeply personal anthem of perseverance. What was the emotional state you were in while writing this song?

I think I was in a hopeful but thoughtful mood when writing it. It came from believing that even small steps can lead somewhere important. I wanted the song to feel encouraging but honest too—because real strength doesn’t always look dramatic.

Inspired by Spain’s Beauty: Spain’s landscapes seem to have influenced your music significantly. Are there particular places in Spain that sparked your creativity the most?

Very much so. The Mediterranean landscapes have inspired me a lot—the sea, the cliffs, and the light near sunset. There’s something very cinematic about them. We recently filmed a video for my version of The Climb by Miley Cyrus in one of those places, and the scenery became almost a character in the video. We spent almost an hour climbing up there, and I remember thinking the whole way, "This had better be worth it.” And it really was—the view was incredible. Experiences like that definitely shape my imagination, and they've also influenced the visual world of my recent single Life’s Game.

Balancing Strength and Vulnerability: Your music balances vulnerability and strength beautifully. Do you find it difficult to be so emotionally open in your songwriting?

Sometimes a little, yes. Being emotionally honest can feel scary. But I think if a song has truth in it, people feel it. And that connection matters more than trying to seem perfect.

Exploring Digital Worlds Through Music: “Roblox Realms” explores digital fantasy and creativity. What inspired you to dive into that theme, and how does it connect to your real-life experiences?

That song came from imagination and playful creativity. I loved the idea of building worlds. In some way that connects to Life’s Game too, where I create a symbolic world to talk about real emotions. I think even working recently on songs connected to Hannah Montana and early Miley Cyrus has fed that side of me—the mix of storytelling, emotion, and theatrical energy.

A Message of Hope and Rebuilding: Many listeners relate to the idea of rebuilding themselves. What message do you hope people take away after listening to “Step by Step”?

I hope people feel that progress matters, even when it’s slow. Keep moving. And I think Life’s Game continues that idea too, asking how we balance planning our lives with accepting surprises.

The Future of Your Sound: Looking ahead, how do you see your sound evolving as you continue your journey across cultures and experiences?

I think my music is becoming a little bolder and more conceptual. I think my music has become a little bolder and more conceptual. Step by Step was about perseverance, Roblox Realms about imagination, and my latest single Life’s Game explores choices, risk and growing up through a new metaphor.
